XOXO follows the story of Jenny, a Korean-American cellist who is so focused on her future that she often forgets to live in the moment. It sounds like a perfect summer read, light and fluffy with a good dose of drama and a lot of romance.When I first saw XOXO by Axie Oh at the Harper Collins Canada Frenzy Presents: spring/summer preview, I immediately knew I had to read it it looked so fun! I did NOT expect it to totally take over my life, make me laugh and cry, and have me messaging friends in all caps because I was so stressed about what was going to happen to the characters. I love the idea of a romance between two students, and the fact that Jaewoo is a member of a K-pop band.
It intrigued me, since Fairyloot usually matches up to my reading tastes quite well, and so I decided to check out the synopsis. Why do I want to read it? I first heard about this book a few months back, when Fairyloot were doing signed pre-orders for the novel. When a relationship means throwing Jenny’s life off the path she’s spent years mapping out, she’ll have to decide once and for all just how much she’s willing to risk for love. He’s a member of one of the biggest K-pop bands in the world-and he’s strictly forbidden from dating. Three months later, when Jenny and her mother arrive in South Korea to take care of her ailing grandmother, she’s shocked to discover that Jaewoo is a student at the same elite arts academy where she’s enrolled for the semester.
